The main entrance to Doulgas Town Hall can be found on Ridgeway Street.
This doorway boasts some fine wrought iron gates bearing the date 1899 in black within gold rectangales. (

The crest is also depicted on the floor of the doorway between the gates and the glass and wooden doors.
The Town Hall building was openned on 10th May 1900 which is a year later than that displayed on the ornamental gates in the door case and the Municipal Building plaque displayed on the front of the building.
Mr Ardron F.R.I.B.A was the architect who designed this building and the main building contractor was Messrs. Gradwell and Co. of Barrow in Furness.
