Douglas Coat of Arms in the tympanum (triangular space enclosed between the horizontal and sloping cornices of the pediment) above the doorcase of Douglas Town Hall on Ridgeway Street.

The Coat of Arns appears to be below a representation of a Green Man (visit link) with the remainder of typnanum filled sith leaves and branches.

Details of the Town Hall building which was openned on 10th May 1900 which is a year later than that displayed on the ornamental gates in the door case and the Municipal Building plaque displayed on the front of the building.

Mr Ardron F.R.I.B.A was the architect who designed this building and the main building contractor was Messrs. Gradwell and Co. of Barrow in Furness.
