Mabry's Chapel was the name given originally to Joel and Winnifred Mabry's home where a Methodist congregation met from 1775 until 1780, when a proper Meeting House was built and kept the name. Several famous American Methodist leaders preached here including Bishop Francis Asbury, the first American Bishop of the Methodist Church. This was an important early Methodist church. This marker was placed in 1999.
