St. Andrews Episcopal Church is know as the "Mother Church of Southside Virginia." The congregation was established in 1720 and the present santuary was built in 1829.

This fine white wood church is built in the classic style of the period. The sqaure steeple is a unique architectural element.
St. Andrews celebreated its 176 anniversaty in October of 2005 with a special dedication. A fund raising campaign is underway to help maintian and restore this church. Services are held here every Sunday.
The Parish of St. Andrew's and the County of Brunswick were created by an act of the
Assembly on November 20, 1720. Because this area extended west to the mountains and was later divided into many parishes, St. Andrew's has been called the "Mother Church of Southside Virginia."
