The mill was built in 1845 as an expansion to his business. In 1864 the mill was enlarged by adding a L. It is constructed with granite and is 3 stories and included 7,500 operating spindles. In 1868 Paul Whitin turned over the management to his 3 sons. Today the mill is used as elderly housing.
