This three-span highway bridge carries vehicle and pedestrian traffic over Mill Creek, near the Oregon State Forester's Office and the Oregon State Penitentiary. The bridge was constructed by Marion County in 1929 and according to the dedication plaque, A.H. Kingsbury was the contractor. The bridge is a total of 107 feet long. The south railing, where the original plaque remains, dates to the 1929 construction, however the 1996 State Street expansion project resuledt in a new north railing to accommodate additional traffic. The bridge handles about 40,000 vehicles per day (as of a 2007 traffic count).
