This marker to the 8th Kansas Regiment is located along a path just west of the split rail fence in the wooded area behind the Brotherton Field on the e. side of Lafayette Rd in the Chickamauga NMP. (note: the access point is in the center of fence).

Short Physical Description
The marker is a simple, 6' high x 3' wide x 1.5' deep, granite obelisk inscribed on its face. It marks the regiment's position at 12:00 noon on September 20, 1863.
