The 8-story office building at 117-121 S. Grand (addressed on building as 115 S. Grand), faces the town square, and was built in 1921. It is constructed of buff-colored brick and terra cotta trim, and has a full basement. The facade is divided into five ranks.
The second floor is crowned with a frieze with ornate scroll and wreath terra cotta molding. The 3rd through 7th floors have Solominic columns with cast stone designs. The 8th floor has decorative pilasters crowned with a frieze with shield, shell and leaf designs. The roof line has a balustrade with finials. An elaborate pediment with a shell motif tops off this beautiful building. The upper windows are paired with wood double-hung sashes.
The ground floor storefronts have been updated with aluminum and glass doors and windows. The entrance on the left, facing west has a stone surround, with cast patterns in the panels to either side of the doors. Above this entrance is a flat, ornate copper awning, hung from the wall with chains.
The building is currently vacant and being reburbished. This building is Item 11 on the District nomination.
