The Miller Memorial Stairway descends through the Dogpatch Community Garden. The stairway connects Franconia Street to Brewster Street. After entering the arched entrance at the top (N37 44.712 W122 24.443), a series of steep steps made from railroad ties wind through the terraced garden. Gardeners greeted me as I walked through. At the bottom of the terraces is a small flat area with a tree stump containing a plque for Miller Memorial Grove. The trail leads to the exit stairway down to Brewster Avenue, where the posted coordinates are. The total elevation change is about 80 feet.

One block to the north on Brewster is the top of the Rutledge Stairway. One block to the south on Brewster is a small 35 steps stairway to Faith Street and one block further south is the top of the Joy Street Stairway.

At the top of of this stairway, just around a corner is the top of the Franconia Street Stairway.
