The Rutledge Stairway in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, is a long stairway through a lush garden. The stairway is divided at the end of a Mullen Avenue cul-de-sac. Google Maps calls this cul-de-sac Park Avenue, but the street sign says Mullen.The posted coordinates are at the stairway midpoint, which is the base of the upper section. The stairway ascends on a straight stairway of concrete steps with a handrail in both side. At the top of the stairway (N37 44.717 W122 24.389) is Mullen Avenue, near where it becomes Brewster Street.
From the Mullen Avenue cul-de-sac, the stairway connects to the lower section of the Rutledge Street Stairway. Three blocks south of the top of this stairway is the top of the Joy Street Stairway.
