Another Lake Street house which looks like it doesn't belong with the others. Built in the 19th century, the house has certain adaptations which compromise its authenticity.

There is just no rhyme or reason for the ridiculousness of this street. Each house is more bizarre and unusual than the next. This gem is cut into two equal pieces, each side different, of course, and with two addresses. The house is very boxy, like a cube with some kind of weird cornice overhand continuous through both sides.
For a slightly more detailed and informed physical description of this site, I have added the narrative from the original nomination form sent to me by John P. Byrne, National Register Database Manager (John_Byrne@nps.gov), Department of the Interior. This narrative was created March 16, 1979, mailed in to Washington, D.C. and evaluated April 18, 1980 and finally approved on July 21, 1982. Thanks to this designation and the efforts of the community to stop developers in the early 70s, Haddonfield is permanently protected and is one of the best example of an intact Colonial America, this site home to the original residents of that time.
2-story simple twin cottage with open porch across front. Original mid-19th century windows, 2 over 2 lights, architrave over windows, wide overhang on cornice, flat roof. Now covered with wood shingles. --- National Register of Historic Places Inventory -- Haddonfield Historic District Nomination Form
