Designed as ‘Enron II,’ this 600-ft. building wasn’t complete by the time of Enron’s collapse. Cesar Pelli & Associates designed a cylinder sheathed in glass jutting out of a seven-story base to create one of the most gorgeous buildings in Houston.

It is hard to say what is so likable about this building. Everything is round, which is a little bit different than your typical skyscraper, but the most stunning creation of Pelli is the circular skywalk linking this building with the former Enron Building and a parking garage. Pelli modeled the skywalk after an airplane wing, containing the support in the deck and creating, in his own words, ‘a translucent envelope.’
One thing that was surely likable about this building to investors was its price. Enron spent over $200 million building it. It was snapped up during Enron’s bankruptcy proceedings of a mere $102 million. The building, along with the original Enron Building, is now home to Chevron.
