Little Fort is at the epicenter of some of the best fly fishing in North America, with hundreds of quality lakes and several pristine rivers in the area. The area is well known for its wide mouth bass, trout and kokanee, drawing anglers from across British Columbia and Canada.

Little Fort is a tiny community of approximately 300 residents, with its economy being boosted somewhat by traffic on the Yellowhead Highway. There are just a few businesses in town, one being the High Five Diner, which includes the motel and campground, Little Fort Fly and Tackle, a food store, and the community hall which is also home to the fire department. Little Fort also relies on traditional industries like farming and cattle ranching, forestry, fishing resorts, and guest ranches.

Just north of town, at Lemieux Creek, is a rest area with an EV charging station.

Certainly the busiest spot in the village would be the High Five Diner, a great little diner situated along the Yellowhead just north of Little Fort's main drag.

High Five Diner
The High Five Diner offers some of the best burgers in the area, famous for their Bleu Burger and their Big Fort, with 2 6oz patties, bacon and double cheddar cheese... Also on the menu are chowders, chicken, pizza, pasta and fish and chips, my favorite.

Though considered a little off the beaten path, the diner was very busy when we passed through, judging by the number of bikes parked out front and the similar number of bikers refueling inside. High Five Diner offers live music by local talent on Saturday nights. They also operate the local motel and campground.
