The bridge would be the original one put in place when the Yellowhead Highway was constructed in the 1960s. An older section of road, where it previously crossed Lemieux Creek, can be seen about 120 metres to the northwest. A small steel girder bridge, this one is only about 75 feet long. The construction year, 1964, is in outer faces of the two concrete corner posts facing traffic on each end of the bridge. The corner posts are set on the bridge abutments with steel railings running along the bridge's edges between them. The two corner posts on the southeast side of the highway have benchmarks at their feet.
