The City of Lewisville started a formal Public Art Program in 2017, and one item in the collection, the Rail Bench, stands at the corner in the 100 block of E Main St, Lewisville, TX. Guess what? The design included a bike rack, too!

Placed in 2019, this beautiful high-backed bench will easily seat three adults. It is made of mostly stainless steel and some aluminum, with rails and glass medallions forming the support for the mesh seat back. The bench is complemented by three rails that stand independently on their own round base, and it's not difficult to slide the bicycle wheel between them. Colors are mostly shades of yellow, orange, and red, reflecting the hot Texas sunshine. The Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater is heavily involved with the placement of art work here in Old Town, and they have a
document which shows the designs of all five of the artistic benches created -- so far -- by May+Watkins Designs. You'll find four of those five right here within a block of each other, and the
Hay Rake and Wheat Bench just across the street also has an artistic bicycle tender.
Your "amenities" are an interesting place to sit and park your bicycle, just a little more than a block from the center of Old Town Lewisville. You'll find places to shop, places to dine, places to explore, and plenty of waymarking to do. Wayne Ferguson Plaza is a park between City Hall and the main drag if you need some open space.
