Right across the street from Austin City Hall is a triangular park at the north end of the South First Street Bridge over Town Lake. This small park (0.2 acres) is dedicated to Margret Hofmann, a 1970s council member who worked to protect and preserve trees. Margret changed the way city leaders view tree preservation. A half dozen large oak trees inhabit the park. A plaque on a rock in the park commemorates the council woman.
