Cariboo Wagon Road helped open up the BC interior in the 1800's.

This wagon road was used to bring people and supplies to Barkerville, BC, during the Cariboo Gold Rush of the mid-1800's. At one time Barkerville was the largest city north of San Francisco, so this wagon road was heavily used.

Why?:
The road was used to haul people and supplies to the gold mines. Parts of it were a stage road at times.
Directions:
The waypoint is on the portion of the road which leads from behind the Methodist Church in Barkerville to the Barkerville Cemetary. This is also the footpath from the campground to the historic site.
