Jesse Day, the founder of Dayton, sold property to the Dittemores in 1891 who built this house on the property. In 1893, they sold it to their daughter who was married to Loren Day was the son of Jesse Day. In 1901, the house was sold to W.C. Godard, an optometrist, president of the Elk Drug Store, manager of the Weinhard Theater, and a one time mayor of Dayton. In 1919, C.R. Rogg bought the home and later converted it into apartments.
This Queen Anne style home was patterned after homes in San Francisco and was the first home in Dayton to have a turret. The house also features a cross bracing in the gable and a pointed window.
