This house was built circa 1903 and by 1905 was the residence of Charles O. Rose, who served as foreman of the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. Mr. Rose sold the house in 1907 to
Clark and
Mary Stone. Mr. Stone was a cement worker and it is believed that he built the adjacent "
Ornamental Concrete Block House." This house was designed as a Queen Anne but has been remodeled twice. A distinctive feature is the front porch, supported by turned wooden columns.
