Vietnamese refugees began to settle in the Golden Triangle area in 1975. In 1976 they met with the Bishop and requested a Vietnamese Chaplain. Father Tran Thai Son was sent to minister to the people. In 1977 Father Do Thai Hoa replaced Father Tran Thai Son. The Vietnamese services where held in St. Mary's Church. In 1978 they searched for a church and bought the existing church on 9th Avenue. On Dec. 25, 1979 the church was consecrated.
