Located a step away from the town's premier hotel and just across from the railway station, this building housed the town barber. At the turn of the twentieth century three locations were likely to become the social hub of a small community. The railroad station brought the latest news as well as the latest visitors. The grand hotel was the place to be seen and the barber shop was the place to discuss what had been learned and who had been seen. Built in 1906, the building is designed with a grand facade. Behind the large square front and overhanging porch is a simpler gabled, corrugated metal roof protecting a board and batten single bay shop. It has survived, and thrived and now houses a sandwich shop.
