" La « Maison du Cornet » était la maison de la corporation des bateliers depuis le XVe siècle.
Après la destruction des maisons de la Grand-Place lors du bombardement de Bruxelles par les troupes françaises commandées par le maréchal de Villeroy en août 1695, la maison fut reconstruite en 1697 par Antoine Pastorana qui dessina son pignon en forme de poupe de navire.
Par contrat passé le 3 avril 1697, les doyens du Métier des Bateliers confièrent à Pierre van Dievoet l'exécution de toute la sculpture de la façade.
Au XVIIIe siècle, elle portait le nom de « De Hoorn ». La maison fut restaurée de 1899 à 1902, notamment par le sculpteur Godefroid Devreese.
La « Maison du Cornet », édifiée en pierre de taille, présente une façade étroite composée de trois travées, sauf les deux derniers niveaux qui en comptent quatre. "

"The Cornet House" was the home of the boatmen guild since the 15th century.
After the destruction of the houses of the Grand-Place during the bombardment of Brussels by French troops commanded by Marshal Villeroy in August 1695, the house was rebuilt in 1697 by Antoine Pastorana who drew his gable in the shape of stern of ship.
By a contract dated April 3, 1697, the deans of the profession of boatmen entrusted to Pierre van Dievoet the execution of the whole sculpture of the facade.
In the 18th century, it was called "De Hoorn". The house was restored from 1899 to 1902, notably by the sculptor Godefroid Devreese.

'The Cornet House' was sinds de 15e eeuw het huis van het scheepsbouwersgilde.
Na de verwoesting van de huizen van de Grote Markt tijdens het bombardement van Brussel door Franse troepen onder bevel van maarschalk Villeroy in augustus 1695, werd het huis in 1697 heropgebouwd door Antoine Pastorana die zijn gevel in de vorm van een achtersteven van het schip tekende.
Bij een contract van 3 april 1697 vertrouwden de dekens van het beroep van scheepslui aan Pierre van Dievoet de uitvoering toe van het gehele beeldhouwwerk van de gevel.
In de 18e eeuw heette het "De Hoorn". Het huis werd gerestaureerd van 1899 tot 1902, met name door de beeldhouwer Godefroid Devreese.
