The burial chamber is located south of the village of St Nicholas and has ample parking adjacent to an access gate.
The chamber was restored after excavation in 1914 and it is believed to be one of the best preserved chambers.
The capstone of the chamber measures 24ft x 15ft and weighs an estimated 40 tons. To the east of the chamber is a unique herringbone wall, though it is possible that this is merely a retaining wall for the remnants of the mound built during restoration.
