Oranjestad (literally "Orange Town") is the capital and largest city of Aruba. Oranjestad is located on the southern coast near the western end of the island country. As of 2015, the population of the capital was around 35,000.
Built in 2017 a new building, the Extension Parliament Building, houses offices and boardrooms used by the ministers and the prime minister of Aruba. It is located at the back of the main Building of the Aruba Parliament. It as the shape of a cocolishi, a shell that can be found on the beaches of Aruba.
The statue of Jan Hendrik Albert "Henny" Eman is erected on the grounds of the parliament building.
