One of the most beautiful and best preserved rural village green in the Pilsen area has Koterov. This is evidenced by the wealth of local farmers and their sensitive relationship to the legacy of past generations. Jednu z nejhezcích a nejzachovalejších venkovských návsí na Plzensku má Koterov. Svedcí o zámožnosti zdejších sedláku a o jejich citlivém vztahu k odkazu minulých generací. Je to tím zajímavejší, že jde o obec prímestskou, která byla a je svázána s prumyslovou Plzní. Jméno osady je v Cechách ojedinelé a je vlastnického puvodu. Byla to ves nazvaná podle jejího zakladatele Kotery ci Kotory. Ve starých pramenech totiž jméno vesnice kolísalo mezi Koterov a Kotorov, což je odvozeno od staroslovanského jména kotora, tj. spor, boj.
