The lot containing this Live Oak tree is on private property but the owners have installed a parking area and have put a chain around the tree to mark how close one can come to the tree itself. Signs on the chain state that it is private property and to be respectful of that. As long as you are there to photo or admire the tree briefly, it is acceptable to visit it.

Interstate 10 and US 90 overlap and pass through Columbus, TX. It is about an hour drive west of Houston along I-10, and about 2 hours drive east of San Antonio. From Austin, Hwy 71 intersects with I-10 and US 90 in the middle of Columbus.`
