This dated obelisk is a memorial to Yale residents who died in World War I.

The town of Yale has a community historic district called White Way which highlights several buildings from the early boom town days of Yale. This war memorial is part of that district.
This is an eight foot high obelisk constructed of concrete blocks. A bronze plaque on the monument reads:
