In 2018, Zippy and Griff once again visited the classic Krispy Kreme Doughnuts shop in Gainesville, Florida, and pondered the shortening of business names like Dunkin' Donuts to just Dunkin' and wonder if Krispy Kreme will soon be just Krispy!

This Krispy Kreme Doughnuts shop was constructed in the 1960s and still retains the hallmark green tile roof and heritage neon road sign from that era. The building also has a classic rooftop crown sign that is apparently outlined with red neon. This looks like an original sign, but the Zippy strip shows a different sign on the roof so it's not clear if the Zippy strip is incorrect or if the sign has been replaced since an earlier Zippy strip ran in 2003

"Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. is an American doughnut company and coffeehouse chain founded in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Krispy Kreme founder Vernon Rudolph bought a yeast-raised recipe from a New Orleans chef and, in 1937, rented a building in what is now historic Old Salem in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and began selling to local grocery stores." -- Source
