of the 1st Batt. Worcestershire Regiment.

"During the Boer War, the then Lieutenant Ernest Charles Forbes Wodehouse was Adjutant of the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. He was promoted to Captain and later to Major. He was awarded the D.S.O. for his gallant service in the South African War. He kept a diary of events during the Boer War.

During the First World War (1914-18) he was Lieut.-Colonel commanding the 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. Sadly, he was killed in action at Neuve Chapelle"
