The Propeller is nicely painted (black, with white and red strips at the tips), and mounted on a steel post in the centre of a circular concrete pad - with the 'red kangaroo' of the RAAF roundel, that is then surrounded by brick paving. Immediately north of the propeller is bronze plaque, commememorating 50 years of the 'nearby' RAAF Base Wagga. The plaque reads:
This Monument commemorates the
50th Anniversary of RAAF Base Forest Hill
which commenced operation 1st July 1940

The Following is Immortalized:
- Trained pilots for World War II: Ansons,
Beaufighters and Wirraways once filled the local
skies.
- Aircraft were repaired: like Ansons, Beaufighters,
Beauforts, Boomerangs, Kittyhawks, Mitchells,
Vengeances, and Venturas.
- Since, Technical Training involving Apprentices
and Adults has been performed: other Non-Techical
Training is now a feature.
- The Base is an integral part of the city: its Airmen
continue to be contributing members of the
Community.
- Those Who Served at the Base are Remembered.
