Roadside Architecture

"This former Cities Service station design was only produced from about 1929 to 1930. The building would have originally looked like this one in Boone, IA. [scan thanks Mike Kertok] This station is believed to be the last surviving or at least recognizable example of the style. These stations were probably painted white with black accents which was Cities color scheme at the time. This building housed Waggin' Tails Pet Salon when these photos were taken in 2011. In 2013, the building was vacant. By 2017, it was housing Reba's Rise & Shine Coffee Co."
