Surnommé Capitaine Tom, il a toujours été pationné par le monde maritime et la mer depuis sa plus jeune enfance, il était l'un des corsaires les plus expérimentés de Calais à son époque et aussi l'un des plus connus. Il commence à naviguer à 11 ans comme mousse et fait son apprentissage de corsaire jusqu'à ses seize ans. A 18 ans il "chasse" déjà l'anglais avec fougue ce qui fait l'admiration de ses compatriotes, ainsi que la crainte des anglais d'ailleurs... Il s'est marié le 9 août 1814 à Calais avec Aurore Rosalie Fayolle (1792-1820) [EN] Antoine Thomas SOUVILLE, born February 24, 1777, died December 31, 1839 is a corsair calaisien.
