The East Block (officially the Eastern Departmental Building) is one of the three buildings on Canada's Parliament Hill, in Ottawa, Ontario. It contains offices for parliamentarians, as well as some preserved pre-Confederation spaces.

Built in the Victorian High Gothic style, the East Block is, along with the Library of Parliament, one of only two buildings on Parliament Hill to have survived mostly intact since original construction. Though not as renowned as the Centre Block of parliament, the East Block formerly appeared on the face of the Journey Series design of the Canadian hundred-dollar bill. The East Block is open to the public for tours in July and August.
Located next to the East Block, the War of 1812 Monument (our third photo) is a bronze and stone memorial made up of seven figures: a First Nations fighter, a Métis militiaman, a regular infantryman from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment of Fencible Infantry, a Quebec soldier of the Canadian Voltigeurs being bandaged by a female figure, a Royal Navy marine, and a farmer. They represent those who took part in the War of 1812 on the Canadian side. The Monument was dedicated on 6 November 2014, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the war's final battle in Canada, the Battle of Malcolm's Mills.
