This grey granite memorial is located on the northeastern portion of the Guadeloupe Courthouse grounds. This is a rather simple memorial. It is a slab type granite memorial with a picture of a helmet on a wooden cross marking a soldier's grave. The text reads:
"Dedicated to the Men of Guadeloupe County who
Gave their Lives to Preservation of our Freedom.
May They Rest In Peace."
There are three long rows of names, in alphabetical order, without no mention as to what war they fought in.
