This park commemorates the historic Y Bridge of Galena, which was built in 1926 and was closed for vehicular traffic in 1986.
The playground is simple and traditional - no big multipurpose unit that most new playgrounds have. It has the following pieces:

- teeter totter
- monkey bars
- swings (only 2)
- geodesic dome bars
- horizontal bar (S shaped, low to the ground)
- bench for parents or guardians
