This milestone is one of many on the A91 road that runs through the Kingdom of Fife, ending in St.Andrews. It can be found near the cottages at Edenside just east of Guardbridge where the road comes closest to the Eden Estuary to the north. The milestone is on the north side of the road on a pavement which serves as the coastal path and cycle route.
Like the others, it is of white painted whinstone with a cast-iron cap denoting the placenames in black abbreviated cursive script. The towns are St.Andrews to the east, Cupar to the west, and Newport-on-Tay to the north, which is reached from the A914 road (right from the roundabout at Guardbridge).
