Service here is outstanding. Their employees are always happy to help and will offer suggestions if you need them. You really can't go wrong with the barbecue, depending upon your tastes, but ask whoever is at the counter how they feel about the sides you're going to pick. Some are fairly run-of-the-mill, while others are homemade, and occasionally, they'll have a really good day when making one or two of them. That jalapeño cornbread can be a real treat.

It's counter service or the drive-thru at this former Taco Bell location. You have your choice of brisket (sliced/chopped), pulled pork, pulled chicken, turkey, sausage (regular or jalapeño) or ribs. Their ribs are their specialty, with lots of good press on the wall in the dining room behind you, but everything they do is terrific. Of course, you can put together sandwiches with everything but the ribs, and they have combination plates where you can also pick a couple of sides. They might even offer you a sausage link for another buck. Everything is also available by the pound (or ribs by the slab), and they have several family packs to feed a group or someone with a huge appetite. What would classify as a "Pig Out Meal" in that regard would be two pounds of any meat, a slab of ribs, two quarts of your choice of sides, buns, and all the sauce you might need, all for sixty bucks. If you're going on the cheap, you're going with a Piglet Meal, aimed at the kids or small appetites, for five bucks that'll get you a sandwich with your choice of meat, along with a side. They do baked potatoes and Frito Pie, and even have a meatless option where you can pick out four sides. You have your choice of soft drinks, tea, or water, but there are no dessert options.

Be sure to try the Wild Man sauce. While you have your pick of "Plano" (regular), "Sweet Willie", and "Hot" sauces at your table, "Wild Man" is up at the counter. It's not hot or spicy, but it's an interesting mustard-based sauce, even popular with folks who don't care for mustard.

Although it is counter service, the folks here are great about coming out to check on you and bringing you anything you might need while you're enjoying your meal.
