"SeaLink is proudly celebrating 30 years of operating ferries, tours and holiday packages to beautiful Kangaroo Island, and to celebrate we’re offering 30% off passenger fares." (April '19 to September 2019)

Cape Jervis is located over 100 km south of Adelaide on the southern tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula. From the Lookout you can see the Ferry Terminal, across Backstair Passage, to Kangaroo Island. It has the Ferry Terminal for the main car and passenger ferry across to Kangaroo Island.
Up at the short-term car park, overlooking the Ferry Terminal is a white triangular boulder, with a bronze plaque affixed, which reads:
CAPE JERVIS PASSENGER/VEHICLE
FERRY FACILITIES
opened by
The Honourable The Minister of Marine
R.K. Abbott M.P.
on
1st March 1985
This project was funded by the South Australian Government
through the Department of Marine and Harbors, and
P. & D. March Enterprises Pty. Ltd. Operating as Philanderer Ferries.
The passenger and vehicular ferry at Cape Jervis crosses to Kangaroo Island every hour between 9.00 am - 7.00 pm in the summer months and once every three hours in the winter months. The terminal could easily be mistaken as an airport terminal, with the similar styled seats, racks of tourist information, and 'boarding calls' over the tannoy.
Not much was to be found online for this specific R.K. Abbott (as opposed to Tony Abbott, who served two years as Prime Minister). As well as being Minister for Marine in 1985, it seems that he was the Minister for Transport, and unveiled a monument for Portland Cement at Seacliff in South Australia, in July 1984.
