The Summitt County Historical Society is located at the Perkins Mansion. Simon Perkin's son lived here and it was the home for other family.

Simon Perkins surveyed the land and founded Akron Ohio even though he never lived here.
Theme:
Cultural History The theme of the museum is maintaining the property of the founder, a place where sheep was raised. There is a self guided tour of the house and grounds for a nominal fee.
