Montrose Basin is a wide area of tidal basin to the west of the coastal town of Montrose. It is a haven for wildlife and is a local nature reserve. On its north-western corner is land owned by the National Trust for Scotland and at the Mains of Dun Farm, on the site of an old mill is a car park where this 'you are here' is sited.
The map covers the area of the basin and includes information on it and the nearly National Trust owned House of Dun. There are also photographs of Montrose Basin in winter, and the following wildfowl, pink-footed goose, wigeon pair, elder, and redshank.
The car park can be found after turning south off the A935 road three miles west of Montrose. After around a hundred yards after passing through the farm, the car park is on the right among woodland through a narrow entrance. The sign is in the centre of the car park.
