From the City of Deltona website:

Audubon Park, is a passive recreational facility featuring nature trails and interpretive venues. As well as being a recreational amenity for the city, the property is also used for stormwater management and natural resource preservation purposes.

My first visit to Audubon park was almost my last. We had just bought a home in Deltona and I was still adjusting to the differences between this state and my home state of Pennsylvania. My biggest fear was of alligators and snakes. So, when I pulled into Audubon Park and was greeted by a "Beware of Alligators" sign, I turned around and headed back home. It took me a few years to return and by that time, I had learned that these signs were in many of the parks and that while alligators are everywhere, it doesn't necessarily mean I would see one. So this time, I took my walk through the park and enjoyed walking along a boardwalk, right across the waters that may have contained those alligators that I was so worried about.

Approximate boardwalk length (feet): 200

What is the boardwalk over?:
The boardwalk begins and ends over dry land which becomes swampy at times. The main part of the boardwalk is over an unnamed pond.

Boardwalk material: wood

Visit Instructions:
