This warning siren is mounted on a wood telephone pole and stands across the street from the old Santa Fe depot to the northeast. It consists of five circular disks, producing sound in a 360 degree circle.
In Oklahoma, outdoor warning devices are most commonly used to warn of tornadoes on the ground nearby. Cushing has a tornado come through every few years. Fortunately, the last one which recorded injuries was back in 1970.
