Ever wonder what that big "Connelly" sign is for, above Bigelow Boulevard? It's a grand old trade school.

The main school building for the Clifford B. Connelly Trade School has a well-earned spot on the National Register. It provided practical trade education to students from the adjoining Hill District for many years. It's closed now, a victim of declining enrollment and obsolesence, as more technology-oriented trade schools have popped up to take its place.
The Classical Revival style building was designed by Edward B. Lee of the J.G. Fullman firm.
