Any Pittsburgh robber baron worth his salt had a mansion along Ridge Avenue. Many of them have been lost to the wrecking ball, but the Byers-Lyons house survives. Built in 1898 by Alexander M. Byers, who made his fortune in steel pipe manufacturing. The mansion has 90 rooms and served as a double house for Byers and his daughter and son-in-law. It's now part of CCAC, whose thoroughly modern buildings surround this elegant remnant of past days.
Boy I wish I could marry into something like the Byers family.
