The plaque says, "Opened January 21, 1921, the Famers State was the town's first bank. The building also served as the towns Library, and the first office of the Chamber of Commerce. Closed during the depression, never reopened as a bank, the building housed a currency exchange, an insurance agency, the Scottsdale Coffee Shop, and for over twenty years the Rusty Spur Cafe."
