The "Schutzhütte Zentral" is located at a large crossroads of several hiking trails in the forest northwest of the former government bunker near Walporzheim.
It is a wooden hut with flat roof and window openings to the sides and to the front.

Inside there is a bench and a wooden sign with height indication. Near the hut there are various signposts and a stela on which Jesus is depicted in a mosaic.

The shelter is often visited because several highly frequented hiking trails cross here.
