On a forest path between Mayschoß and Dernau there is a memorial for those killed and missing during the First World War.
The memorial stone, to which two wedge-shaped stone blocks with the names of the war victims belong, was supplemented by a small chapel in 1959.
The building is made of masonry slate and has a pointed roof. Inside there is a religious image and a surface for Eternal Lights.
Commemorative events take place here at regular intervals.
The chapel was erected by the people of Mayschoß.
