This memorial is a striking metal sculpture, accompanied by a descriptive plaque. The war took place in 1525, with Franconian and Neckartal-Odenwälder peasants and farmers rising up against noble exploitation.

Swabian League / Alliance troops under Georg von Waldburg-Zeil moved through southern Germany and supported the princes and bishops and quashed the rebellion.

Wurzburg in Bavaria was the center of much of the war. In Wurzburg, 13 people were hanged in the fish market in June of 1525.

This memorial is on the grounds of the Festung Marienberg.
