Friends of the IBA’s Alfred Z. Solomon Grassland Bird Viewing Area is a premier destination for viewing wintering hawks and owls!
Short-eared owls, Snowy owls and Rough-legged hawks are often seen; Red-tailed hawks hunt the fields year round. Spring brings the return of American kestrels, Eastern meadowlarks, Bobolinks, Eastern bluebirds and several of the grassland sparrows, as well as many common species such as Northern mockingbirds, Tree swallows and Common Yellowthroat.

It overlooks hundreds of acres of surrounding fields, with picturesque views of the hills to the east. Open sunrise to sunset; Please Stay in Viewing Area.
