Right on the western corner of the Mid-Western Highway (aka Railway Street) and Wee Street, in the 'Central West' area of New South Wales is this two-storey, brick and wooden, classic style Hotel.

It is some 500 km west of Sydney. Wikipedia gives the possible origin of the town's name - Weethalle, as being the Aboriginal word for, 'Drink'. [The area was set aside as homestead farms for returned soldiers in 1921; with the first wheat in this region being harvested in 1923.] As the Dated section of the facade shows, this Hotel was built in 1928, not long after the area was 'opened'. The hotel was built at a cost of £13,000. (visit link)

The brickwork is of dark brown brick, with multi-paned, double hung windows on both floors. The upper floor has a centrally accessed, covered verandah, which is supported by wooden posts over the footpath.

Topping the roof is a facade at least a metre high, of brown bricks, and cream painted rendered highlights. Offset to the middle is an obtuse peaked Dated section, where the year '1918' is placed, along with the name of the Hotel. Below that is a moulded ledge.
